Road Test Booking

Please Note This Important Information

We offer road tests for all license classes.
All road tests must be scheduled in advance.
You must supply a vehicle with valid insurance and registration.

Vehicle Safety Standards Required For a Road Test
1. Lights – working brake lights, head lights, and signal lights.
2. Horn – working horn.
3. Speedometer – working speedometer.
4. Brakes – park brakes and moving brakes must be in good working condition.
5. Windshield – must provide unobstructed view.
6. Tires – must have safe treat wear and safe rims.
7. Seats – the driver’s and examiner’s seats must be securely fastened and have working seat belts.
8. Steering – must not have excessive play.
9. Exhaust – no exhaust system leaks.
10. Mirrors – adequate side view and rear view mirrors.
11. Fuel – enough fuel for a 60 min road test.

The driver examiner will inspect the vehicle for each of the above items prior to conduction the road test. If the vehicle is not deemed to be safe your road test will be cancelled and a loss of your fees will result.

All cancellations and re-bookings are at the sole discretion of the driver examiner.

NOTICE
When you have successfully completed a road test your driver’s license classification must be updated. The fee for the reclassification is $22.45 (incl gst). This cost is in addition to the road test fee. This fee may not be paid with a credit card.

Credit Card Fine Payments

Overdue Fines – (Pay By Phone)
If you have not dealt with it by the due date on the summons, you may be convicted in absence. The overdue fine will then be transferred to the Motor Vehicles database where a late penalty charge will be added. This outstanding fine must be paid before any motor vehicle service can be performed for you. The ticket numbers are not required when paying overdue fines.

Current Fines – (Scan and Upload)
A current fine is a ticket you have received and the due date is more than two days in the future. Payment must be received at least two days before the final due date on the ticket.

First we must receive a copy of the ticket(s) before we can accept your payment.

License Plate Renewals

NOTE: The online service is only for private passenger vehicles or light commercial vehicles, with a GVW of not more than 4500 kg. The maximum per vehicle renewal fee allowed for the online transaction is $100.00 per vehicle. For renewal fees greater than $100 per vehicle you must renew in person.
NOTE: The maximum renewal term available for online renewals is one year.

In order to renew online you will need the following:
• Your vehicle license plate number.
• A valid insurance pink card which is proof of insurance coverage.
• Your insurance must provide public liability and property damage coverage under an owner’s automobile insurance policy as provided for in the Alberta Insurance Act.
• It is an offense punishable by law to apply for or obtain registration of a motor vehicle when it is not insured or to operate an uninsured motor vehicle.
• A valid VISA or MasterCard

Caution
• Allow at least 10 days for registrations and tabs to reach you by mail. If you are processing this renewal within 10 days of expiry, you may not receive your new registration and tabs before the end of the month.
• It is your responsibility to allow sufficient time for mail delivery.
Do not renew your vehicle online if your mailing address has changed, otherwise your documents may be sent to the wrong address.

Alberta Only Vehicle Information Report

A Vehicle Information Report (VIR) provides information about a vehicle’s registration history in Alberta only. The report is produced using the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

Payment by VISA or MasterCard

Information contained in the VIR includes:

• The date and time of the report
• Vehicle description – year, make, model, style, colour, fuel type, odometer reading if available
• Vehicle status – active, salvage, non-repairable, unsafe, rebuilt, etc.
• Vehicle registration – date vehicle first entered on system, licence plate classification, registration history date and location (no personal information for any current or previous owner is shown, including licence plate numbers)
• Lien information – provides the number of liens and other related instruments which are registered in the province of Alberta and associated with the serial number (detailed information, such as the secured party and the party to whom the money is owed, can be determined by purchasing a separate Personal Property lien search)
• The VIR ONLY shows information from the Alberta Motor Vehicle System. It does not include any information from other provinces or countries where the vehicle may have been registered.

Land Title Searches

In order to process any of the land title searches listed below the legal description is always required. The legal description may be obtained from a tax notice, purchase agreement, or directly from the respective municipality. Once you have the legal description you can request any of the other searches. You can expect to receive your search results the same day of your request provided that your request is received before 3:00PM. Payment by VISA or MasterCard.

Cancelled Title – $21.00 (incl gst)
This search will confirm the date of transfer of ownership, which may be required for a variety of reasons.

Current Title – $21.00 (incl gst)
This will simply give you a current title status.

Historical Search – $21.00 (incl gst)
The history of a specific title may be searched back to a specified date, or as far back as the history goes.

Mineral Rights – $21.00 (incl gst)
This search will provide you with the current status of the mineral rights.

Document Search – $14.50 (incl gst)
Any document registered on a land title may be retrieved with this search. Documents registered on a land title may include the following; builder’s lien, caveat, maintenance order, mortgage, utility right of way, etc.
In order to do a document search you must provide the specific Document Registration Number.
If you do not have the Document Registration Number then you can order a Current Title Search first, which will display all of the Documents Registered to the title. Then using the Document Registration Number you may obtain a copy of the Document with a Document Search.

Personal Property Lien Searches

The term “personal property” is used to describe consumer goods such as cars, household and personal items, industrial or farming equipment or aircraft. We provide facilities to search the Personal Property Registry to avoid possible legal conflicts. All information that is stored in Alberta Personal Property Registry Electronic System (APPRES) is public.

You may order any of the searches listed below online by clicking on the appropriate search. Payment by VISA or MasterCard.

You can expect to receive a copy of your search on the same day of your request provided that your request is received before 3:00PM.

Business Name (debtor) Search – $13.60 (incl gst)
This search will report all securities charged against the business name including personal property liens. It is very important that the full legal name of the business be used.

Individual Name (debtor) Search – $13.60 (incl gst)
This search will report all securities charged against the personal name including personal property liens. It is very important that the full legal name of the person be used. The date of birth is also helpful although not a requirement.

Serial Number Search – $13.60 (incl gst)
This search will report all securities charged against a specific piece of personal property. You must provide a serial number and detailed description of the property.
IE – 2000 Honda Generator, series 3000, s/n 123456789.

Related Writ Search – $13.60 (incl gst)
When a judgment is granted and a writ of enforcement is obtained, it is the duty of the writ holder to do a Related Writ Search before acting on a writ.
